Where do you buy or recommend buying seeds/ plants?
  • Mike Lieberman
Here's a list of seeds spots that I was recommended
    http://www.collectedseed.com/order-seeds.html
    Bakers Creek Heirloom Seeds
    Seeds of Change
    Seed Savers Exchange
    Hudson Valley Seed Library
    Johnnys
    High Mowing Seeds
Turtle Tree Seeds (local, heirloom, organic)
    Fedco
    Botanical Interests

Do you live in NYC? If so, I get my plants from Silver Heights Farm at the Union Square Farmers Market. She starts up again in April.

Just found this blog today -- you are my new hero -- thanks!!
  • Mike Lieberman
Glad that you found it and are enjoying.

Was checking out the photos...what do you do with the stinging nettle? That stuff is all over around here for most of the year. Sting like h*ll too!
  • Mike Lieberman
I use the stinging nettles in tea with some mint leaves.
  • Great information. I was curious why you use copper rather than PVC pie in your wicking pots

    Thanks

    Gerry
  • Great information. I've been doing container gardening for a few years but was fascinated by your wicking system. Tell me if you will why you use copper pipe rather than PVC which is much less expensive.

    Thanks
  • Mike Lieberman
Thanks for the comment Gerry. I use copper instead of PVC because of the chemicals that could potentially leach into the water and soil when using PVC.
