Awesome. Yes anything is possible. My recommendation would be stick to the lettuces, greens and some herbs. You'll get the best yield out of them and won't be too obtrusive. Best of luck and please keep me updated.

just moved this winter to a one bedroom with fire escape…got the permission to plant but it must be law abiding and tasteful in appearance….love your ideas and can't wait to Get back to gardening…I feel lost without it….you give me hope for a harvest to come, small but mighty…bravo…

Thanks again for all the info. Not really sure what rooting hormone is, so don't really mess with it. For dirt, I prefer to stay away from Miracle Grow as well. I prefer to grow my stuff organically. It's my personal preference.

I also only water through the pipe. The only time it gets watered from the top is when I first plant and when it rains.
