There were a total of 86 comments left last week on the post for a chance to win a copy of the Garden Rules by Jayme Jenkins and Billie Brownell.
I’d like to thank everyone who submitted a comment and left one of their own garden rules, and I’d also like to thank Cool Springs Press, Jayme and Billie for supplying the prize.
To select the winner, I went to Random.org and used their True Random Number Generator. I put in 1-86 and the number generated was 22.

Mike, I stumbled across you and your website a couple weeks ago; you have completely inspired me to finally get off my butt and GARDEN already! There was always an excuse of not enough room, even though I have a huge yard and such… so my husband almost has my new composter fully assembled, and I bought a pretty pot (to increase my compliance) for the kitchen compost… got my veggies… etc. I have had the Michael Pollan books sitting around… I finally started reading those, too. And as I’m ready to start Food Rules, bam! You come up with this contest. So I have to say, I have to agree with the “No Rules” answer, but to be original, I will say that my rule for myself is that I will not give up, no matter the outcome, because even my attempt is an attitude in the right direction!!
