A month ago, I started seeds using hydroculture and set them outside as an experiment.

After a few weeks they didn’t sprout, so I brought them indoors and restarted the experiment and they started to sprout.

I’ve been lazy in taking care of them and have been focusing more on the balcony garden. I don’t want to toss them, so I am holding a contest giving away the rockwool, hydrotron, mysterious liquid stuff along with the instructions on how to grow.

All you have to do is leave a comment. You have until 11:59pm EST on Thursday, November 4 to do so. A comment will be chosen at random as the winner.

Get to commenting and best of luck.
Update: Please make your comment longer than 10 words and something substantial.

Is it true that if you don’t grow vegetables in soil, they will lack nutrients?

I would love to try growing via hydroculture. I have grown herbs and tomatoes and cucumbers outside in pots, but never tried the hydroculture method of growing yet. I’ve got four large windows on the back side of my little studio apartment that face southeast, so I can provide plenty of light. This would be a great option to continue growing some of my own herbs indoors this winter. If I have any problems or questions, I think there is a store about an hour away in New Orleans that specializes in hydroculture. Thanks for the opportunity.

Hey (PCOStherealdeal here)Been following your channel on YT since before you made the big move and I love watching your channel grow and change. Iv got a small jerry riged system half way put together with optional fish and tank it actually really could be cool. I plan on growing cherry tomato’s, and a few other types of herbs and veggies maybe some cucumber’s in the grow tray. My last attempt killed off the fish because of the pete moss. Any way’s here’s my comment. -crossing fingers- (BTW LOVE LOVE LOVE the give away idea!)

no it is not true because it takes the essential nutrients to produce the fruit so it will have the fruit however if you dont keep your medium rich enough there will be reduced nutrtitional value and taste will suffer also. the rule is basically the same the more nutrients the stronger and healthier they will be and

I enjoy your blog even though I am not an “urban” gardener since I live on 6 acres in a rural area. I just love to see others gardening ideas and I often find things I can share with my city dwelling friends to help them live more sustainably. Thanks for the opportunity to win.
